One of the Most Important Questions You Should Ask Yourself...And Answer!

Personally, I think this is one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves. Not to create undue anxiety and unwanted stress, but so that we can live with purpose and fulfillment. I'm convinced that one of life's greatest tragedies is living it without knowing why.

This morning I was enjoying my coffee while watching the fish and frogs in my pond. Then I began to wonder how they will fare when winter bears down on them. I believe both the fish and frogs can essentially hibernate, at the bottom of the pond. I'll let you know next Spring.

Then I started to think... their existence seems a little dull. The fish (through no fault of their own) swim around a relatively small container in the ground, and the frogs swim and sit in the grass or on the rocks in the sun.

Day after day, it's got to get a little boring, doesn't it? I mean, is that enough? What else could they be here for?

Maybe they exist more for my benefit (and my grandson who loves to watch them).

Then I saw a bee. And while I don't know a lot about them, I do know that most of our food supply wouldn't exist without the bumble bee. They buzz around transporting pollen from one flower to another and miraculously, we get food.

So while I'm not sure what the point of fish and frogs are in the big scheme of life, bees certainly have a purpose. Their mission, if you will, is to make food for the entire world population. That's all.

Isn't it amazing to think that God created a bee with such an important mission.

Let me ask you a question...

If God has a mission for a bumble bee, don't you think He has a mission for you too?

What is your mission?

Do you know what it is? If not, why not?

Personally, I think this is one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves. Not to create undue anxiety and unwanted stress, but so that we can live with purpose and fulfillment.

I'm convinced that one of life's greatest tragedies is living it without knowing why.

This is why I wrote Vantage Point: Five Perspectives to Live a better Story.

Each of the 5 perspectives give you clues to who you are, how you're wired, and what you were created to do. Put them altogether and like pieces to a puzzle, you will get a clearer picture of why you exist.

I find that truly compelling, exciting and motivating.

So if you're feeling stuck, in a rut, unclear of your mission, maybe it's time to grab a copy of Vantage Point.
